The love of the Borussia Dortmund supporters and the atmosphere at the Signal Iduna Park could help convince Erling Haaland to stay at the club, Sebastian Kehl believes.

Erling Haaland continues to be linked with a move away from Borussia Dortmund, with several big clubs in Europe lining up for his signature. Despite all the rumours, the BVB bosses have hope that the striker will stay on at the club. Sebastian Kehl believes that the Borussia Dortmund supporters could play a role in convincing Haaland to stay at the club.

"“This is a driving force for many players who come to Dortmund,” Kehl told Sky90 on Sunday. “This feeling, this atmosphere, these emotions. Erling really looks forward to it. He also keeps asking, when will we have a sold-out crowd again?”“Erling wants to be loved – and the people in Dortmund love him.”"

Hans-Joachim Watzke said last month that no decision has yet been made on Haaland’s future, and the key lies in the 21 year old’s hands. The Borussia Dortmund CEO added that they are still hopeful of keeping the striker at the club beyond the end of the current season.

Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea are among the clubs reportedly interested in signing Haaland next summer. The Norwegian international still has three years left on his Borussia Dortmund contract. But his contract reportedly contains a release clause that will come into effect next summer.

Haaland has stated on numerous occasions that he is very happy at Borussia Dortmund. He has also never been shy about his love for playing in front of the Yellow Wall. The Black and Yellows are set to have close to 70,000 supporters at the Signal Iduna Park for their next home game (against Mainz 05 on October 16). And hopefully, the striker will get to play in front of a packed crowd at the Signal Iduna Park again very soon.
