Thomas Delaney – Sevilla

Thomas Delaney left Borussia Dortmund to join Sevilla for a cut-price fee this summer. Like Sancho, Delaney is still settling in having missed pre-season following Denmark’s run to the semi-finals at the Euros. But it has still been a very eventful start to life in Spain for the Dane.

Delaney has made a total of five appearances so far for Sevilla, and has helped them make a strong start to the season. The Andalusia based club are currently fourth in the La Liga standings, three points behind leaders Real Madrid but with a game in hand.

But Delaney did receive the first ever red card of his professional career last month as he was sent off in Sevilla’s 2-0 win over Espanyol.

Despite that red card, Delaney is enjoying his time at Sevilla. The midfielder is playing slightly higher up the pitch than he did at Borussia Dortmund. He said last month that he prefers to play in the number eight role as it allows him to get more involved in the attacking play.
