Leonardo Balerdi – Olympique Marseille

Leonardo Balerdi completed a permanent transfer to Olympique Marseille this summer after spending last season on loan with the French side. And things seem to be going rather well for him there, especially compared to his forgettable spell at Borussia Dortmund.

Balerdi has started seven games for Marseille in the Ligue 1 this season. The only games he has missed so far came when he was suspended after receiving a red card against Bordeaux. The 22 year old’s performances have certainly not been the most consistent, but he has established himself as an important player for Jorge Sampaoli’s side.

Balerdi has formed a decent partnership in the Marseille defence with William Saliba and Luan Peres. The Argentine centre-back has put in some tenacious performances for Marseille so far. But there still remains plenty of room for improvement.
