Defenders: Marius Wolf, Manuel Akanji, Mats Hummels, Emre Can

Injuries to Thomas Meunier, Raphael Guerreiro, Mateu Morey and Nico Schulz mean that Borussia Dortmund will have to line up with makeshift full-backs on Saturday. One of Felix Passlack and Marius Wolf will likely start at right-back in Meunier’s absence. While Emre Can and Thorgan Hazard will be in contention to start at left-back.

Can came on to replace Schulz at half time against Ajax and has played at left-back before for Germany. So he remains the likeliest option to start there against Arminia Bielefeld.

Marco Rose could also switch to a back three formation with Thorgan Hazard and Marius Wolf as the two wing-backs.

Mats Hummels is not fully fit either, but he is more likely to get a rest on Tuesday. The 32 year old scored a brace in this fixture last season. Joining Hummels at centre-back will be Manuel Akanji, who has been Borussia Dortmund’s best defender this season.
