Borussia Dortmund player ratings from 3-1 win over Arminia Bielefeld
By Tushar Bahl
Marco Reus (6/10)
Reus had a great chance to score in the first half but he fired his rebound wide. He got into encouraging positions on a few occasions but lacked the clinical edge in front of goal. But he also helped out defensively by making an important last ditch challenge to prevent Arminia Bielefeld from pulling a goal back in the 80th minute. The Borussia Dortmund captain also made 5 key passes over the 90 minutes and played the pass to Jude Bellingham before the England international’s goal.
Donyell Malen (6/10)
Malen started up front in the absence of Haaland and forced a good save from the Arminia Bielefeld goalkeeper early in the game. He also won Borussia Dortmund a penalty at the half hour mark. But other than that, the Netherlands international had a rather quiet game. He was replaced by Steffen Tigges in the 66th minute.
Marwin Hitz (6/10)
Hitz had a couple of shaky moments but also made a fantastic save to deny Arminia Bielefeld. He did not stand much of a chance with the penalty.
Steffen Tigges, Axel Witsel, Reinier Jesus and Lennard Maloney (N/R)
All four players came on with the game already in the bag for Borussia Dortmund.
