Borussia Dortmund may have to make do without Erling Haaland until December after the striker suffered a hip flexor injury.

Borussia Dortmund received another big blow on Friday as Marco Rose revealed that Erling Haaland has sustained a hip flexor injury. The BVB head coach said during his press conference that Haaland will be out for a few weeks. But reports claim that the Norwegian international could face an even longer spell on the sidelines.

According to Sport1, Haaland has a torn muscle bundle in his left thigh and he could be out until December. If this report is true, the striker will be forced to miss a number of important games for both club and country. Borussia Dortmund have yet to give an exact timeframe for Haaland’s recovery. So it remains to be seen exactly how long he will be out for.

But not having Haaland back till December would be a huge blow to Borussia Dortmund’s hopes of winning the Bundesliga title this season. The Norwegian international is BVB’s top goalscorer this season, having found the net 13 times in just 10 appearances.

Haaland’s injury adds to the raft of injury problems Borussia Dortmund have had to deal with so far this season. In addition to Haaland, the Black and Yellows also have Gio Reyna, Raphael Guerreiro, Thomas Meunier, Mahmoud Dahoud, Youssoufa Moukoko, Mateu Morey and Nico Schulz on the sidelines at the moment.

The current injury situation is far from ideal, especially with Borussia Dortmund competing in three competitions at the moment.
