Borussia Dortmund are through to the third round of the DFB-Pokal after Thorgan Hazard’s second half brace helped them seal a 2-0 win over FC Ingolstadt.

Borussia Dortmund were far from their best but got the job done in the end against FC Ingolstadt on Tuesday to seal their progress to the third round of the DFB-Pokal. Thorgan Hazard came off the bench and scored a brace for the defending Pokal champions as they saw off the challenge of Ingolstadt.

Marco Rose’s side dominated the game right from the start, as Ingolstadt were happy to sit back and defend. Jude Bellingham and Steffen Tigges were both denied by the crossbar, while Mats Hummels had a goal disallowed. But Ingolstadt’s hopes of taking the Black and Yellows to extra time were dashed when Thorgan Hazard came on and scored a quick-fire brace to seal a hard fought win for his side.

Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from their 2-0 win over Ingolstadt.

Marwin Hitz (6/10)

Hitz did not have much to do. But he did his job well whenever called upon. He came out of his goal and made a couple of vital clearances for his side and also delivered a few neat passes.
