Gregor Kobel has made a near-perfect start to his Borussia Dortmund career. And the goalkeeper feels that he is at one of the top ten clubs in the world.

A few eyebrows were raised when Borussia Dortmund spent 15 million euros to sign Gregor Kobel from VfB Stuttgart in the summer. But the 23 year old has hardly put a foot wrong since moving to the Signal Iduna Park. He has produced several match-winning performances for the Black and Yellows, and has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Bundesliga.

Kobel feels that Borussia Dortmund is a completely different dimension compared to his previous clubs VfB Stuttgart, TSG Hoffenheim and FC Augsburg. And while playing more games has taken some getting used to, the goalkeeper is very happy to be at one of the top clubs in the world of football.

In an interview with Blick, Kobel said:

"“It’s a different dimension, I’m now at a club that is in the top 10 in the football world. But the biggest adjustment is of course the Champions League, a game every three days, a lot more traveling, my body hasn’t experienced that before. But this increased workload is a change I’ve always looked forward to. That’s what football is about, I’m mega happy.”"

Kobel is determined to win titles with Borussia Dortmund. But his main goal at the moment is to help his side win as many games as possible in all competitions.

"“Of course, becoming German champion is a dream. And winning titles is always the goal in Dortmund. But right now I want to win as many matches as we can in all the competitions and then see where we end up. No one has ever won titles by talking.”"

Borussia Dortmund have made a relatively strong start in all competitions. Marco Rose’s side are second in both the Bundesliga and their Champions League group, and have also reached the round of 16 in the DFB-Pokal. While Kobel feels that they could have done better in certain games, he is happy with the team’s overall start to the season.

"“We could have won even more games, and we’ve dropped a few points. But we’re up there in the Bundesliga, we’re doing well in the Champions League overall, and we’re in the DFB Cup. So things are going well.”"
