Who will start at left-back?

Marius Wolf became the latest Borussia Dortmund player to suffer a muscle injury as he was forced off in the game against Ajax. The versatile wide player has been ruled out ‘until further notice’. And with Raphael Guerreiro and Nico Schulz also injured, it will be interesting to see who starts at left-back/left wing-back on Saturday.

Felix Passlack replaced Wolf at left-back on Wednesday and appears to be the most natural option, especially if Marco Rose decides to go with a back four. But his performances so far this season have left a lot to be desired. And so Rose may be forced into looking for a different solution.

Thorgan Hazard could start at left wing-back if Borussia Dortmund switch to a back three formation. He has played that role well for Belgium over the years. And he even got two goals while playing in that role against Ingolstadt last week.

Having Hazard play at left wing-back may well be the ideal option considering all the injury problems Borussia Dortmund are having to deal with at the moment.
