RB Leipzig vs Borussia Dortmund: Talking points ahead of Bundesliga clash
By Tushar Bahl
Which RB Leipzig side will turn up?
Saturday’s game will also be crucial for RB Leipzig, who have had a rather forgettable start to the season. Having lost a number of key players and head coach Julian Nagelsmann in the summer, Leipzig are going through a season of transition.
RB Leipzig have already dropped points against the likes of Mainz, Wolfsburg, FC Köln and Eintracht Frankfurt this season. And they also lost to Club Brugge in the Champions League in September. Jesse Marsch’s side find themselves in eighth place in the Bundesliga standings heading into this weekend’s game, nine points behind Borussia Dortmund.
But RB Leipzig did manage to come from behind and claim a 2-2 draw against Paris St. Germain in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. And that may be just the momentum boost they need to turn their season around.
Leipzig are also on a six-match unbeaten run in the Bundesliga. So Borussia Dortmund cannot afford to take them lightly despite their underwhelming start to the season.
