Defenders: Manuel Akanji, Mats Hummels, Marin Pongracic

Borussia Dortmund suffered another injury blow on Wednesday as Marius Wolf was forced to come off against Ajax. He will miss this weekend’s game along with Raphael Guerreiro and Nico Schulz.

It looks like Marco Rose has reverted to a back three to deal with Wolf’s absence, with Marin Pongracic joining Manuel Akanji and Mats Hummels in the heart of the defence. Hummels was given a controversial red card on Wednesday against Ajax and will be looking to lead from the front this weekend.

Pongracic has looked a bit shaky in the last few games. But with a lack of alternative options in the side, he plays from the start once again. Dan-Axel Zagadou is fit again but is by no means ready to play 90 minutes. He will be on the bench against RB Leipzig.

Borussia Dortmund could also potentially line up with a back four, with Akanji at left back and Pongracic joining Hummels at centre-back. Akanji is by no means a natural left-back, but he did play in that role on a few occasions during his first season with Borussia Dortmund.
