11 Borussia Dortmund players called up for international duty

The final international break of the year is upon us and a total of 11 Borussia Dortmund players will be away with their national teams over the next two weeks.

11 Borussia Dortmund players have been called up for international duty with some crucial and decisive qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup coming up this month.

Julian Brandt has been rewarded for his impressive recent form with a recall to the Germany squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein and Armenia. Marco Reus has also been named in the squad, while Mats Hummels has been given a chance to rest. Germany have already qualified for the FIFA World Cup.

Manuel Akanji has been named in the Switzerland squad for crunch their World Cup qualifiers against Italy and Bulgaria. Gregor Kobel was also called up but has been forced to withdraw from the squad due to a hip injury.

Borussia Dortmund trio Thorgan Hazard, Axel Witsel and Thomas Meunier will be in action for Belgium in their games against Estonia and Wales.

Jude Bellingham will be looking to help England book their place in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Three Lions will go up against Albania and San Marino. Donyell Malen is part of the Netherlands squad for their qualifiers against Montenegro and Norway. While Marin Pongracic will be away with the Croatia squad as they take on Malta and Russia.

Youssoufa Moukoko and Ansgar Knauff have also been called up for international duty. The highly rated Borussia Dortmund duo are in the Germany U-21s squad for their European U-21 Championship qualifiers against Poland and San Marino.
