Borussia Dortmund internationals: Thorgan Hazard on target as Belgium qualify for the World Cup

Thorgan Hazard, Axel Witsel and Thomas Meunier helped Belgium qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Saturday evening. But Donyell Malen and the Netherlands let a two goal lead slip and now face a tricky finale next week.
Belgium cruised to a 3-1 win over Estonia on Saturday to book their ticket to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Borussia Dortmund duo Axel Witsel and Thomas Meunier both started for the Red Devils, while Thorgan Hazard came off the bench and scored their third goal to make sure of the win.
Christian Benteke and Yannick Carrasco were also on target for Belgium, who have won six of their seven World Cup qualifiers.
Belgium will be among the favourites to win the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Roberto Martinez’s side finished third at the 2018 World Cup in Brazil, and they will be looking to make it to the final in Qatar next year.
While Belgium qualified for the World Cup, the Netherlands will have to wait until the final matchday to book their ticket. They let slip a two goal lead in the final ten minutes of their qualifier against Montenegro and had to settle for a 2-2 draw in the end. Donyell Malen started for the Netherlands, but was substituted at half time. Louis van Gaal’s side must now avoid defeat in their final qualifier against Norway in order to qualify.
Norway could only manage a goalless draw against Latvia in the absence of the injured Erling Haaland. The draw, combined with Turkey’s 6-0 win over Gibraltar, saw Norway slip to third place in their qualifying group. A win against the Netherlands on Tuesday would be enough for Norway to at least make it to the play-offs.
