Borussia Dortmund could have Raphael Guerreiro and Mahmoud Dahoud back in the squad for this weekend’s Bundesliga clash against VfB Stuttgart.

Borussia Dortmund’s injury crisis is showing some signs of easing up, with Raphael Guerreiro and Mahmoud Dahoud both closing in on their returns. According to BILD, both Guerreiro and Dahoud have recovered from their injuries and are set to return to the BVB squad for this weekend’s home game against VfB Stuttgart in the Bundesliga.

Guerreiro suffered a torn muscle fibre while on international duty with Portugal last month and has missed Borussia Dortmund’s last seven games as a result. While Dahoud suffered a knee injury during the UEFA Champions League clash against Sporting CP in September and has missed the last eight games.

Guerreiro made his return to team training last week, while Dahoud began training individually. Having them both back in the squad will be a big boost for Borussia Dortmund, who have several important games coming up in the Bundesliga and the UEFA Champions League over the next few weeks.

Left-back and midfield are two positions that have been heavily impacted due to the various injuries in the Borussia Dortmund squad. So the returns of Guerreiro and Dahoud will also give Marco Rose the chance to rotate his team a bit.

It remains to be seen if any of the other injured players will be able to return for this weekend’s game. The Black and Yellows will likely provide an update on the status of the injured players in the coming days.
