Hakim Ziyech has been linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund in recent days. But Chelsea are ‘likely to be reluctant’ to loan him out in the January transfer window.

Borussia Dortmund are looking to bolster their attack in January, and Chelsea attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech is one name reportedly attracting their interest. Recent reports in Germany have claimed that the Black and Yellows could look to sign the 28 year old on a loan deal. But according to the Telegraph, Chelsea are unlikely to want to loan him out in the winter transfer window.

The report adds that Chelsea haven’t yet held any detailed talks with Ziyech regarding his future. But a loan deal is not likely to be attractive to the English Premier League side, as they are competing in five competitions at the moment.

Ziyech, who joined Chelsea from AFC Ajax in 2020, has found playing time hard to come by this season. He has been limited to just ten appearances so far, and has scored two goals for Thomas Tuchel’s side. Reports have claimed that the Morocco international is open to leaving Chelsea in January.

Ziyech is capable of playing in the number ten role and also on either wing, so it is easy to see why Borussia Dortmund would be interested in signing him. In addition to Dortmund, FC Barcelona are also said to be keen on signing Ziyech on loan. But if Chelsea are unwilling to let him leave on loan, the two clubs will have to look elsewhere.
