There will be plenty on the line as title rivals Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich collide in the Bundesliga this weekend.

We have been treated to an exciting Bundesliga title race so far this season, and the league’s top two teams collide this weekend in the latest edition of Der Klassiker. Just one point separates Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich going into Saturday’s clash. And if the last few meetings between these two sides are anything to go by, we will be in for plenty of fireworks this weekend.

Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund have lost three of their last five games, but did manage to earn an impressive come from behind win against VfL Wolfsburg last weekend. That win will have no doubt given them a lot of confidence after their disappointing early exit from the UEFA Champions League.

Despite their poor Champions League run, Borussia Dortmund have won 10 of their 13 games in the Bundesliga this season. And they also have their star man back in Erling Haaland. The Norwegian international’s presence in attack makes Dortmund a much more formidable team.

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich have managed to win five of their last six games. But their vulnerabilities have also been exposed on a number of occasions already this season. The defending Bundesliga champions suffered a shock defeat to local rivals FC Augsburg last month. And they were also hammered by Marco Rose’s former club Borussia Mönchengladbach in the DFB-Pokal in late October.

Bayern have had the measure of Borussia Dortmund in recent years. They always seem to find that extra gear when they face the Black and Yellows. So we could be in for quite a contest at the Signal Iduna Park on Saturday.
