Defenders: Thomas Meunier, Marin Pongracic, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Nico Schulz

This game presents the perfect opportunity for Marco Rose to rest his first-choice defensive duo of Manuel Akanji and Mats Hummels. Marin Pongracic and Dan-Axel Zagadou haven’t had much playing time of late, and should come into the starting XI.

With Marius Wolf not yet fully fit and Emre Can suspended, it remains to be seen if Thomas Meunier will be afforded a rest on Tuesday. Felix Passlack could also be an option should Rose decide to give the Belgian international a breather.

Raphael Guerreiro is another player who is set to be given a rest. Nico Schulz will likely be the one to start in his stead at left-back. The 28 year old came off the bench against Bayern Munich on Saturday and will want to make a good impression against Besiktas.
