Thomas Meunier (6/10)

Meunier put in a solid defensive display and also delivered a number of dangerous crosses into the box. He was then given a breather for the second half, with Reinier Jesus coming on to replace him.

Mats Hummels (7/10)

Hummels responded well after his poor performance against Bayern Munich on Saturday. The Borussia Dortmund vice-captain hardly put a foot wrong and kept Michy Batshuayi quiet for the majority of the game. He also helped out with the build-up play on a number of occasions and played some gorgeous long balls.

Dan-Axel Zagadou (7/10)

Making his first senior start since March, Zagadou delivered a strong performance and showed how good he can be. He performed his defensive duties really well and was also heavily involved in the build-up play. It was a strong performance that Zagadou can build on in the coming games. And he should get more opportunities to impress, with Manuel Akanji sidelined after undergoing a minor knee surgery.

Nico Schulz (7.5/10)

Schulz delivered a strong attacking performance and led Borussia Dortmund with a game high five key passes. The left-back also delivered a lovely cross for Erling Haaland’s first goal. And he also linked up really well with his teammates down the left flank.
