Gregor Kobel: Not the position we want to be in but we will keep going

Gregor Kobel has said that Borussia Dortmund will keep fighting for the Bundesliga title despite falling six points behind Bayern Munich following their 1-1 draw against VfL Bochum.
Borussia Dortmund dropped points in the Bundesliga once again on Saturday as they were held to 1-1 draw by VfL Bochum. The result, combined with Bayern Munich’s come from behind win over Mainz 05, saw the Black and Yellows lose further ground in the title race.
But even though six points now separate the two rivals, Gregor Kobel is not giving up on Borussia Dortmund’s hopes of winning the Bundesliga title this season.
"“It’s not the position we want to be in, that’s 100% clear,” Kobel said after the game. “But we have no other choice. We want to keep going. Not even the first half of the season is played, so we’ll see after 34 games where we stand. We have to do everything to get as many points as we can.”"
Gregor Kobel did not have the best of games on Saturday as he gave away the penalty that allowed Bochum to take the lead in the first half. He came off his line to try and clear the ball away, but ended up fouling Bochum winger Christopher Antwi-Adjei inside the box instead.
It was the first major error made by Kobel, who has been a very reliable presence in goal for Borussia Dortmund since his summer move from VfB Stuttgart. The Swiss goalkeeper took full responsibility for his mistake and said that he was annoyed by it.
"“Just before the foul, I realized that I was too late. But then there was no turning back. I definitely have to do better, the goal is on me. Such an action naturally puts the team in a bad position. It’s very annoying. I always try to play aggressively. Most of the time it goes well, this time it didn’t go well.”"

Borussia Dortmund now have two more games to go before the winter break. Marco Rose’s side host the struggling Greuther Fürth on Wednesday before traveling to Berlin to take on Hertha BSC next weekend. And failure to win either of the two games would all but spell curtains for their bid to win the Bundesliga title.
