Borussia Dortmund hope to have Raphael Guerreiro and Donyell Malen back in the squad for Wednesday’s Bundesliga clash against Greuther Fürth.

Borussia Dortmund had to make do without Raphael Guerreiro and Donyell Malen for their Bundesliga clash against VfL Bochum on Saturday, with the former missing out due to muscular problems and the latter dealing with a viral infection.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten, both players missed Sunday’s training session and Guerreiro received treatment from the physios. At the moment, it remains to be seen if they will be available to play against Greuther Fürth. Sebastian Kehl told RN on Sunday that the Black and Yellows hope to have the duo back in the squad for Wednesday’s game.

Guerreiro has had to deal with a number of injury problems so far this season, and he had only just made his return from a muscle injury in the game against Bayern Munich earlier this month. So Borussia Dortmund will certainly be hoping that the Portuguese international can stay injury free after the turn of the year.

Gio Reyna continued his progress in training on Sunday, but he will have to wait until after the winter break to make his return to action. As will Manuel Akanji, who had to undergo a minor knee surgery. Youssoufa Moukoko is also sidelined at the moment with a torn muscle fibre.
