Defenders: Thomas Meunier, Mats Hummels, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Nico Schulz

Dan-Axel Zagadou has filled in for Manuel Akanji in each of the last two games. He is the likeliest candidate to start alongside Mats Hummels at centre-back on Wednesday. But if Marco Rose decides to give the Frenchman a breather, one of Emre Can and Marin Pongracic could get a chance to start at centre-back.

With Raphael Guerreiro set to miss Wednesday’s game as well, Nico Schulz is expected to start at left-back once again. Thomas Meunier also looks set to keep his place in the starting XI with a lack of real alternatives at right-back.

Marius Wolf could be an option for either of the two full-back roles if Rose decides to rotate his squad. The versatile wide player has been used in a number of different roles this season, and has done a solid job whenever called upon.
