Real Madrid are reportedly ready to wait until 2023 before making a move to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

There has been a lot of speculation about Erling Haaland’s Borussia Dortmund future in recent weeks. One thing that is certain though is that Real Madrid are among the clubs interested in signing him. Hans-Joachim Watzke confirmed the Spanish giants’ interest in the Norwegian international last week.

Now Spanish newspaper Diario AS are reporting that Real Madrid would be interested in waiting until 2023 before making a move for Haaland. This plan coincides with that of Borussia Dortmund, who are keen on keeping the striker at the club for another season. AS add that Real Madrid are confident Karim Benzema can lead the line for them for at least one more season. And signing Haaland in 2023 would be perfect timing for them.

The newspaper does claim that Real Madrid have told Borussia Dortmund that they are equally interested in signing Haaland if he decides to leave the club this summer. Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund have a very good relationship with each other, and that could prove to be helpful during the negotiations.

Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola recently said that the 21 year old could stay at Borussia Dortmund for another season.
