Borussia Dortmund are ready to make Erling Haaland the highest paid player at the club in a bid to convince him to stay on beyond the end of the season.

Erling Haaland’s future has been a big talking point in recent weeks, with clubs across Europe queuing up to sign him even though the summer transfer window is still more than six months away. Borussia Dortmund are keen on keeping the striker at the club for at least another year. And they will hold talks with the Haaland camp in the coming weeks to discuss his future.

Borussia Dortmund are prepared to double Haaland’s salary in a bid to convince him to stay. This is being reported by BILD, who add that the Norwegian international will also be offered a lucrative deal with the club’s kit supplier Puma. Haaland is said to be currently earning an annual salary of eight million euros. And if his salary gets doubled, he would become the highest paid player at the club.

Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United and FC Barcelona are among the many clubs in the race to sign Haaland. Speculation about the Norwegian international’s future has been rampant in recent weeks.

But Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola said recently that his client could stay at Borussia Dortmund for another season. The 21 year old has three years left on his current contract with the Black and Yellows.
