Real Madrid are reportedly keen on selling on-loan Borussia Dortmund forward Reinier Jesus instead of sending him out on another loan deal.

Reinier’s time at Borussia Dortmund is set to come to an end, with the only question being whether he will leave the club in January or at the end of the season. And apparently Real Madrid are looking to part ways with him on a permanent transfer instead of sending him out on loan again.

This is being reported by Ruhr Nachrichten, who add that ending his loan move early at Borussia Dortmund and finding a new club will not be easy for Reinier. SL Benfica are said to be showing some interest in signing the 19 year old. But Real Madrid’s asking price is expected to be a big hurdle in their attempts to sign him.

Reinier joined Real Madrid from Brazilian side Flamengo for a fee of 30 million euros in January 2020. The Spanish giants loaned him out to Borussia Dortmund before the start of last season. He has made just 30 appearances for the Black and Yellows over the last 18 months, and the majority of those appearances have come off the bench. He scored one goal last season, and has yet to register a goal or an assist this season.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Reinier, who still has more than four years left on his Real Madrid contract. His loan spell at Borussia Dortmund certainly hasn’t worked out. And he will be looking to get some regular playing time wherever he goes next.
