Report: Borussia Dortmund leading the race to sign highly rated French striker Mohamed-Ali Cho
Borussia Dortmund are said to be interested in signing highly rated striker Mohamed-Ali Cho, who plays for French club Angers SCO.
Mohamed-Ali Cho is enjoying an impressive breakthrough campaign in Ligue 1, and he is attracting the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs. According to L’Equipe, Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and several clubs in Germany are following his progress. But it is Borussia Dortmund who are leading the race for his signature.
The newspaper claims that Borussia Dortmund have held talks with Mohamed-Ali Cho’s entourage and they have already presented their project to the player.
Angers SCO are said to be dreaming of a transfer fee in the region of 40 million euros, but the newspaper adds that they already know that they are not going to receive that amount for the 17 year old. The striker’s contract with the French side is due to expire at the end of next season.
Mohamed-Ali Cho has made 18 appearances for Angers SCO so far this season, scoring two goals. He made his professional debut for the Ligue 1 side last season. The former Everton youth team striker also earned his maiden France U21s call-up earlier this season.
It remains to be seen if there is any truth to this rumour. Borussia Dortmund already have a number of highly rated young strikers in their ranks in Youssoufa Moukoko, Bradley Fink and Julian Rijkhoff. And they are also said to be leading the race to sign Karim Adeyemi from RB Salzburg. Dortmund have also been linked with Patrik Schick, Sebastian Haller and Darwin Núñez in recent weeks.
