Defenders: Thomas Meunier, Marin Pongracic, Mats Hummels, Raphael Guerreiro

With Manuel Akanji and Dan-Axel Zagadou both unavailable, it will be interesting to see who partners Mats Hummels in central defence. Marin Pongracic is the obvious and likeliest option, as he is the only other natural centre-back in the squad. But his shaky recent performances could prompt Marco Rose to go with one of Emre Can and Axel Witsel.

Thomas Meunier will start at right-back once again. The Belgian international made a strong start to the season, but ran out of steam towards the end. His aim for the second half of the season will be to ensure that he limits the sloppy turnovers that have been a consistent feature of his game for the last 18 months.

Raphael Guerreiro appears to be fully fit again and should make his return to the starting XI on Saturday. The Portuguese international will be hoping that the injury troubles that affected him during the hinrunde are finally behind him.
