Forwards: Thorgan Hazard, Marco Reus, Donyell Malen, Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland will be desperate to find the back of the net on Friday after failing to score in the last two games. The Norwegian international does not have the best of records against Freiburg, having failed to score in three of his four games against them.

Like Haaland, Marco Reus was also kept relatively quiet last weekend. The Borussia Dortmund captain will likely start in his favoured number ten role after playing on the wing for a large part of last weekend’s game.

Donyell Malen had a mixed game down the right wing against Eintracht Frankfurt. After a lacklustre first half, he had some encouraging moments in the second. It will be interesting to see what position he plays in on Friday, especially if Thorgan Hazard returns to the starting XI.

Hazard came off the bench and helped kick-start Borussia Dortmund’s comeback against Eintracht Frankfurt. That cameo performance should be enough to earn him a place in the starting XI on Friday. The Belgian international has had a stop-start season so far. And he will want to find some consistency in the second half of the season.
