Mahmoud Dahoud (9/10)

Dahoud led the way for Borussia Dortmund by dominating the midfield battle for the entirety of the 90 minutes. He had things under control and caused Freiburg a lot of problems with his high pressing. He won the ball back high up the pitch before both of Haaland’s goals, and then got on the scoresheet himself late on with a gorgeous finish.

Jude Bellingham (7.5/10)

Bellingham’s movement and link up play caused all sorts of problems to the Freiburg defenders. He worked immensely hard for the team and won the majority of his duels. He also did really well to set up Haaland’s first goal on the stroke of half time.

Julian Brandt (8/10)

Two Julian Brandt corners led to Borussia Dortmund’s first two goals. He looked very lively over the course of the 90 minutes and played some very intelligent and dangerous passes. What makes this performance even sweeter is the fact that the German international completed 92% of his passes, a stark contrast to the last two games.
