Thomas Meunier (5/10)

Meunier was not able to venture forward as much as he would have liked because he was kept busy by the St. Pauli forwards. He was in the right place at the right time for his side on a couple of occasions. But he was too slow in the build up to the first goal and wasn’t able to stop Marcel Hartel’s cross from finding its target.

Manuel Akanji (4.5/10)

Akanji was a touch too slow in reacting to the cross that led to St. Pauli’s opener. He had a difficult time dealing with the threat posed by Etienne Amenyido, but also stopped a couple of dangerous counter attacks.

Mats Hummels (6/10)

Hummels set up a great chance for Marco Reus in the first half. And he also won his side a penalty with some really good play inside the St. Pauli box. He also defended with great resolve against Burgstaller, and made several vital interceptions for his side.

Raphael Guerreiro (3/10)

Guerreiro forgot his defensive duties before both of St. Pauli’s goals. He was always looking to get forward, but did not have much success down the left wing or through the middle.
