Borussia Dortmund announce squad for the UEFA Europa League knockout rounds
Borussia Dortmund have confirmed their squad for the knockout phase of the 2021/22 UEFA Europa League, and a couple of surprise names have been included.
With the January transfer window now closed, the start of the UEFA Europa League knockout stage is almost upon us. Borussia Dortmund are set to take on Scottish champions Rangers in the knockout round play-offs, and they have confirmed their squad ahead of the tie. The Black and Yellows have included 30 players in their squad, with 25 players on List A and five players on List B.
There are two changes to the 30-man squad that Borussia Dortmund named for the UEFA Champions League group stage earlier this season. Attacking midfielder Immanuel Pherai and goalkeeper Silas Ostrzinski have come into the squad in place of Ansgar Knauff and Tobias Raschl.
Knauff is now on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt, and has been named in their UEFA Europa League squad. While Raschl has joined Greuther Fürth on a permanent transfer. Roman Bürki has also been included in the Borussia Dortmund squad following his failed move to FC Lorient on transfer deadline day.
Borussia Dortmund are among the favourites to win the UEFA Europa League this season. But for now, they will have their sights set on beating Rangers and qualifying for the round of 16. Marco Rose’s side will host the first leg on February 17, before traveling to Glasgow for the second leg on February 24.
