Borussia Dortmund U-19s coach Mike Tullberg praises Jamie Bynoe-Gittens

Borussia Dortmund U-19s head coach Mike Tullberg has heaped praise on highly rated winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, saying that not many players can do the things he can on a football pitch.
Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has been making a lot of waves for the Borussia Dortmund U-19s this season. The former Manchester City youth academy player has six goals and two assists to his name in just six appearances so far this season, and his performances have also seen him draw comparisons with Jadon Sancho.
Bynoe-Gittens continued his excellent run of form on Friday, as he scored one goal and also won a penalty to help the BVB U-19s claim a 3-1 win in their top of the table clash against Bayer Leverkusen.
Borussia Dortmund U-19s head coach Mike Tullberg believes that Bynoe-Gittens’ offensive quality, especially in one on one situations, is on a whole another level.
"“I don’t have to talk about his potential. You can already see that”, Tullberg told Reviersport. “He can do things that very few players are able to do. The way he asserts himself offensively in one-on-one situations is on a whole other level."
Tullberg is also confident that Bynoe-Gittens will get the chance to play for the first-team before long. But he wants to take a patient approach, especially considering the injuries the 17 year old has had to deal with in recent months.
"“We hope that he will play in big stadiums at some point. We have to be patient. The boy has had three injuries on the same foot. It doesn’t matter whether he’s in the pros in March or June. The main thing is that when he is there, he is able to perform.”"
Bynoe-Gittens suffered a torn ankle ligament injury on his first-team debut during pre-season, and was sidelined for several weeks as a result. Borussia Dortmund director of youth performance centre Lars Ricken said in December that the winger is a difference maker at an extremely high-level when he is fully fit.
Bynoe-Gittens has been in fine form since his return from injury. And he will be looking to make the difference once again on Tuesday as the Borussia Dortmund U-19s take on Empoli in the UEFA Youth League playoffs.
