Bradley Fink, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Lion Semic were all on target as the Borussia Dortmund U-19s claimed a 3-1 win over Bayer Leverkusen on Friday to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Borussia Dortmund U-19s squared off against Bayer Leverkusen in an eagerly-awaited top of the table contest on Friday evening. Mike Tullberg’s side went into the game four points clear of second placed Leverkusen in the U-19s Bundesliga West standings. And the two teams delivered a highly entertaining match-up, with the young Black and Yellows coming out on top in the end.

The BVB U-19s had a number of highly rated players in their starting XI, including Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Bradley Fink, Abdoulaye Kamara, Nnamdi Collins and Julian Rijkhoff.

And they took the lead in the 14th minute, with Fink scoring from the penalty spot after Bynoe-Gittens was fouled inside the box. The goal helped the highly rated striker take his tally for the season to 24 goals in just 24 appearances.

Bayer Leverkusen managed to find an equaliser in the 37th minute, as Noah Pesch found the net with a well-taken finish on the turn. But Dortmund managed to retake the lead early in the second half after they were awarded another penalty. Nnamdi Collins was the player fouled inside the box this time around. And Jamie Bynoe-Gittens stepped up to make it 2-1.

Lion Semic then made sure of the three points just after the hour mark with an excellent finish from inside the box.

The BVB U-19s have won eight and drawn one of their nine games in the league this season. And they will be looking to continue this impressive run of form on Tuesday as they take on Italian side Empoli in the UEFA Youth League.
