Marco Reus has said that he feels very comfortable at Borussia Dortmund, and he hopes to stay at the club until the end of his playing career.

Marco Reus has been synonymous with Borussia Dortmund ever since he made his return to the club back in 2012. The attacking midfielder has made nearly 350 appearances for the Black and Yellows, and has been club captain since 2018.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the 2022/23 season, Reus has confirmed that he would like to sign an extension with Borussia Dortmund. And not only that, the 32 year old wants to finish his playing career at the club.

In an interview with BILD, Reus said that while he hasn’t had any contract talks with the BVB bosses yet, he feels very comfortable at the club.

"“I’m feeling very good at the moment and I’m really enjoying leading this team. It’s well known that I feel very comfortable here and that this club is very important to me.”“We haven’t had any talks yet. But as I just said, I’ve already extended my contract twice, especially in times when things weren’t going particularly well from a sporting point of view. So why shouldn’t I do it now?”“As far as I’m concerned, BVB is my club, Dortmund is my hometown and I’d like to finish my career here.”"

Reus has been the face of Borussia Dortmund for almost a decade now. And even at the age of 32, he is still one of the Bundesliga’s top performers and one of the first names on the BVB team-sheet. The attacking midfielder has nine goals and ten assists to his name in just 29 appearances across all competitions so far this season.

Only 11 players have made more appearances for Borussia Dortmund than Marco Reus, and he will no doubt be very close to the top by the time he finishes his playing career. Reus is also the club’s third highest goalscorer of all-time, with 149 goals to his name. And he is closing in on Michael Zorc’s record of 158 goals.
