Union Berlin vs Borussia Dortmund: Expected lineup for Bundesliga clash
By Tushar Bahl
Midfielders: Mahmoud Dahoud, Jude Bellingham, Julian Brandt
Marco Rose could be tempted to shuffle his midfield pack, especially with one eye on Thursday’s game against Rangers. However, Axel Witsel has seemingly fallen out of favour, Gio Reyna is only just returning from his long-term injury, and Emre Can may be needed at right-back.
So we could see Borussia Dortmund go with the same midfield trio that struggled against Bayer Leverkusen. Mahmoud Dahoud should have more space and time to play his natural game and dictate play from his number six role than he did last week.
Jude Bellingham had a tough time against Bayer Leverkusen, but has been one of Borussia Dortmund’s most consistent players this season. He will be looking to find his form again quickly.
Julian Brandt has been struggling for consistency since the turn of the year. But he still has an impressive five goals and seven assists in 18 Bundesliga games this season. His creativity will be crucial to Borussia Dortmund’s chances of finding a breakthrough past Union Berlin on Sunday.
