Union Berlin vs Borussia Dortmund team news: Erling Haaland, Thomas Meunier ruled out
Borussia Dortmund will have to make do without Erling Haaland and Thomas Meunier for Sunday’s Bundesliga clash against Union Berlin. But Mats Hummels and Emre Can are set to make their returns.
Another tough away game awaits Borussia Dortmund on Sunday as they make the trip to the German capital to take on Union Berlin. The Black and Yellows suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen last weekend. And fourth placed Union Berlin certainly won’t make things any easier for them.
Borussia Dortmund’s injury list has also grown in recent days, with Thomas Meunier and Marius Wolf joining Erling Haaland on the sidelines. Thorgan Hazard has also not traveled to Berlin.
But Mats Hummels and Emre Can should be available once again. Marco Rose may look to ring in a few changes, with his side facing another crunch game against Rangers on Thursday.
Emre Can is likely to fill in at right-back for Borussia Dortmund, with Felix Passlack is another option. Youssoufa Moukoko, who scored his first professional goal in this fixture last season, could also be an option for the starting XI.
Union Berlin are set to be without Dominique Heintz, Niko Gießelmann, Andreas Voglsammer and Jakob Busk on Sunday, with all four players in quarantine after testing positive for Covid-19. Rani Khedira is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season last weekend.
