Defenders: Emre Can, Mats Hummels, Dan-Axel Zagadou, Raphael Guerreiro

With Manuel Akanji now sidelined for three weeks and Thomas Meunier still absent, Emre Can could come back into the starting XI and slot in at right-back. The other option would be to play Raphael Guerreiro at right-back, with Nico Schulz coming in at left-back. Marius Wolf is also fit again, but it remains to be seen if he is ready to play from the start.

Mats Hummels and Dan-Axel Zagadou look set to start as the two centre-backs, thanks in part to a lack of viable alternatives. Marin Pongracic is available, but he has hardly looked comfortable defensively when given the opportunity.

Guerreiro may be needed at right-back, but the likelihood is that he will start at left-back. The Portuguese international scored a wonder goal against Rangers, and he will have a key role to play again on Sunday.
