Borussia Dortmund have extended the contract of highly rated goalkeeper Luca Unbehaun, who has been putting in impressive performances for the U-23s this season.

Borussia Dortmund have announced that young goalkeeper Luca Unbehaun has signed a new contract, which will keep him at the club at least until the end of the 2022/23 season. The 20 year old’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of the current season, and he was even linked with a move to Union Berlin. But the Black and Yellows have now moved to ensure that he stays at the club for the near future.

Unbehaun is currently the third-choice goalkeeper for the Borussia Dortmund first-team, behind Gregor Kobel and Marwin Hitz. He is also the first-choice goalkeeper for the Borussia Dortmund U-23s, and has impressed with his performances in the 3. Liga this season.

Unbehaun has made a total of 13 appearances for BVB II this season, and has kept three clean sheets. He had to spend a few months on the sidelines earlier this season after suffering a hand injury. But he made his return to the starting XI earlier this month and has started in each of the last three games. He has also represented Germany at the U-16s, U-17s, U-18s and U-20s level.
