Kobel continued his excellent run of form on Sunday, as he made a number of important saves en route to a second straight clean sheet in the league. He will be hoping that the defenders can offer him some support against a Rangers side that is strong on the counter-attack.

Defenders: Emre Can, Mats Hummels, Marin Pongracic

The switch to a back three worked really well for Borussia Dortmund on Sunday, and it is likely that Marco Rose will stick with this formation for Thursday’s game.

With Manuel Akanji and Dan-Axel Zagadou both sidelined, Mats Hummels and Marin Pongracic are the only senior centre-backs in the Borussia Dortmund ranks. Unless Rose decides to field Axel Witsel in defence on Thursday, we will likely see Hummels and Pongracic start alongside Emre Can in the back three.
