Bayern Munich extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga standings to eight points on matchday 24. While Hertha Berlin slipped into the relegation playoff spot.
Defending champions Bayern Munich moved another step closer towards winning the Bundesliga title on Saturday evening by claiming a 1-0 win away to Eintracht Frankfurt. Leroy Sané’s goal in the 71st minute helped Julian Nagelsmann’s side squeak out a massive win.

Bayern had more reasons to celebrate on Sunday as their local rivals FC Augsburg held second placed Borussia Dortmund to a 1-1 draw. Noah Sarenren Bazee canceled out Thorgan Hazard’s opener to pull Augsburg out of the relegation playoff spot on goal difference.

That spot is now occupied by Hertha BSC, who suffered another crushing defeat. Tayfun Korkut’s side were beaten by SC Freiburg, who moved up to fifth place with the win.
It has been a season to forget so far for VfB Stuttgart, and their woes continued on Friday as late goals from Christoph Baumgartner helped TSG Hoffenheim claim a come from behind 2-1 win against them. Stuttgart remain 17th in the Bundesliga standings, four points shy of the relegation playoff spot.
Christopher Nkunku’s 82nd minute winner helped RB Leipzig continue their impressive run of form on Sunday. They claimed a 1-0 win over VfL Bochum and managed to hold on to fourth place ahead of Freiburg and Hoffenheim.

Bayer Leverkusen returned to winning ways on Saturday. They claimed an impressive 3-0 win over Arminia Bielefeld courtesy of goals from Moussa Diaby (x2) and Lucas Alario.
Borussia Mönchengladbach came from two goals behind to earn a 2-2 draw against VfL Wolfsburg to boost their chances of avoiding the drop. Goals from Marcus Thuram and Breel Embolo helped Gladbach claim a vital point after Jonas Wind and Sebastiaan Bornauw had given Wolfsburg a two goal lead.

Union Berlin ended a run of three straight defeats by beating Mainz 05 3-1. Genki Haraguchi, Sheraldo Becker and Taiwo Awoniyi gave the Berliners a three goal cushion, before Delano Burgzorg scored a consolation goal for the 05ers.
Bottom club Greuther Fürth came from behind to rescue a 1-1 draw against FC Köln. Sebastian Griesbeck scored a 70th minute equaliser 18 minutes after Florian Kainz’s opener.
