Borussia Dortmund reportedly keeping tabs on RB Salzburg’s Noah Okafor
Borussia Dortmund are said to be one of many clubs interested in signing RB Salzburg’s Noah Okafor.
RB Salzburg has become quite an impressive factory of talent over the last few years, producing some incredibly exciting players such as Dayot Upamecano, Erling Haaland, and Karim Adeyemi. All players have become well known names in football despite their relatively young ages. Adeyemi in particular is already being heavily linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund with talks ongoing. But it looks like he might not be the only Salzburg player of interest for the Black and Yellows.
Sport1 claim that Noah Okafor has attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig. The young Swiss international has 7 goals and 5 assists across 15 appearances for Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga this season.
In terms of position, Okafor is able to play either as a centre-forward or out on the wing, making him a versatile attacking player. He is also very good at dribbling with the ball at his feet and has plenty of pace to burn.
Okafor could really add a more direct dimension to Borussia Dortmund’s game, with the current side lacking both speed and players who can take defenders on one on one in tight situations. Dortmund’s only natural winger in the first team is Thorgan Hazard, who has had quite a few injury problems this season, which underlines just how important reinforcements in this position truly are.
While it’s not certain that Salzburg would allow both Okafor and Adeyemi to leave in the same window, in the event that Dortmund or any other club wish to bid for the Swiss international, it is said that the asking price would be around 25 million euros.
Should Dortmund manage to pull of a double coup for the Salzburg attacking duo, they would be signing a pair of deadly attackers that already have experience playing with each other up front for Salzburg, which may ease their integration into the squad and help in terms of settling in the German Bundesliga.
