Borussia Dortmund left-back Raphael Guerreiro made his return to team training on Thursday after recovering from his Covid-19 infection.

Borussia Dortmund’s personnel situation is starting to ease up a bit with the international break just around the corner. According to Ruhr Nachrichten, Raphael Guerreiro took part in Thursday’s training session. The left-back has been forced to miss the last two games after testing positive for Covid-19, but he is now closing in on his return.

It remains to be seen whether Guerreiro will be able to play on Sunday, having missed more than a week of training. But he has been named in Portugal’s squad for the upcoming international break. So he should be back in action soon.

Ruhr Nachrichten add that Manuel Akanji, Dan-Axel Zagadou and Mats Hummels also trained on Thursday. Hummels also made the trip Mainz after recovering from Covid-19, but wasn’t included in the matchday squad. While Akanji and Zagadou are on their way back from their respective injuries.

Jude Bellingham is also expected to be able to play against Köln despite a clash of heads with Mainz 05’s Niklas Tauer on Wednesday. The England international spent the full 90 minutes on the pitch against Mainz despite looking a bit dazed after the collision.

Marco Reus remains a doubt ahead of Sunday’s game, having missed the last two games due to an illness. He hasn’t been able to take part in training for the last week.
