Marco Rose: Draw against Köln a fair result in the end

Borussia Dortmund head coach Marco Rose conceded that his side did not deserve to get the three points against FC Köln on Sunday.
Borussia Dortmund suffered another setback in the Bundesliga on Sunday evening as they were held to a 1-1 draw by FC Köln. The Black and Yellows took the lead early on through Marius Wolf, but Köln struck back with Sebastian Andersson scoring the equaliser. Dortmund had a few chances to restore their advantage in the second half, but they weren’t able to make the most of them.
Marco Rose felt that FC Köln were the better team in the first half, but the change in formation at half-time helped Borussia Dortmund regain control of the game. He added that the 1-1 draw was a fair result in the end.
Rose also bemoaned the amount of crosses Borussia Dortmund allowed into the box. Köln played in a total of 25 crosses over the course of 90 minutes on Sunday. And Dortmund were somewhat fortunate that only one of those crosses resulted in a goal for the Billy Goats.
"“We started the game well, took the lead via a long ball into a space that we talked about before,” Rose told DAZN. “In the half hour before the break, it was all Köln, I have to admit that honestly.”“We couldn’t close down the wings, there was one cross after the other, one chance after the other and then we conceded the deserved equaliser before the break.”“In the second half, we had more control of the game and also created better chances. Overall, I think the draw was a fair result.”"
The draw against Köln leaves Borussia Dortmund six points behind Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga standings. While their hopes of winning the Bundesliga title this season appear to be very slim at best, Dortmund will now look to secure second place as quickly as possible.
A tough run of fixtures awaits Borussia Dortmund after the international break, as they are due to take on RB Leipzig, VfB Stuttgart, Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich over a four game span.
