Report: Quartet on Borussia Dortmund’s list of potential targets to replace Erling Haaland
By Tushar Bahl
Borussia Dortmund reportedly have four strikers on their list of targets to potentially replace Erling Haaland in the summer.
It looks increasingly likely that Erling Haaland’s future will lie away from Borussia Dortmund, with Manchester City and Real Madrid battling for his signature. And the BVB bosses are preparing for his potential summer departure. According to SportBILD, the Black and Yellows currently have four candidates on their list of targets.
The magazine claims that Bayer Leverkusen’s Patrik Schick, AFC Ajax’s Sébastien Haller, VfB Stuttgart’s Saša Kalajdžić and Sparta Prague’s Adam Hložek are the four names Borussia Dortmund could consider signing in the summer to replace Haaland if he decides to leave.
SportBILD add that Bayer Leverkusen would demand a transfer fee of 70 million euros to part ways with Patrik Schick in the summer, which would put him out of Borussia Dortmund’s price range. Sébastien Haller will not be cheap either, with SportBILD expecting an asking price of 30 million euros.
Saša Kalajdžić will likely be available for a cut-price fee in the summer, with his contract with Stuttgart set to expire at the end of next season. Adam Hložek is rated very highly, and is looking to take the next step in his career.
The upcoming summer transfer window promises to be an eventful one for Borussia Dortmund. Signing a new striker will likely be high on the list of priorities for incoming sporting director Sebastian Kehl, should Erling Haaland depart in the summer. And it will be interesting to see who Kehl decides to bring in.
