Borussia Dortmund winger Ansgar Knauff is very happy with the way his loan spell at Eintracht Frankfurt is going at the moment.

Ansgar Knauff left Borussia Dortmund to join Eintracht Frankfurt on an 18-month loan deal in the January transfer window. The highly rated winger has made a promising start to life in Frankfurt, and has already made quite an impact. And he is really pleased with how things are going at the moment.

"“So far, things are going well, just as we all imagined,” Knauff said during a media round. “I’m improving all the time, I’m getting on well with the team, with the flow of the game, and I hope it continues like this. The guys are great, it’s a lot of fun to play with the whole team.”"

Knauff spent the majority of the first half of the season playing for the Borussia Dortmund U-23s in the third division of German football, as he struggled to break into the first-team. But then Eintracht Frankfurt came calling and signed him on loan in January.

The 20 year old has made eight appearances for the Eagles so far, and has started each of their last six games. He opened his account for Oliver Glasner’s side earlier this month during their 4-1 win over Hertha BSC.

Another exciting test awaits Knauff and Eintracht Frankfurt next month as they take on FC Barcelona in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Europa League. And Knauff said that he is looking forward to what promises be a special quarterfinal tie against the Spanish giants.

Eintracht Frankfurt do not have a purchase option in the loan deal for Knauff. According to Ruhr Nachrichten, the BVB bosses are keeping a close eye on the Germany U-21s international’s development. And as it stands, he will return to Borussia Dortmund after his loan spell with Eintracht Frankfurt ends in 2023.
