Final thoughts

Borussia Dortmund’s loss to Leipzig isn’t indicative of any new startling revelations behind their performances. It is more of a continuation of a very embarrassing highlight reel that shines a light on the same standing issues that have ingrained themselves in the club’s style of play. These standing issues have become focal points for teams to exploit, and frankly speaking, they don’t have to try hard to do so.

Saturday’s performance is yet another clear cut example of individual mistakes coming back to bite the team in the long run. While it is obvious that Leipzig are a team on the rise with Domenico Tedesco at the helm, it should also be crystal clear that losing 4-1 at home is an unacceptable and frustrating result for the club and fans to have to stomach.

No one really expected the game to be a walk in the park, but Leipzig had it far too easy at the Westfalenstadion this weekend.
