Gio Reyna’s injury woes continued on Friday as he was forced to come off with an injury less than two minutes into Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga clash against VfB Stuttgart.

Gio Reyna suffered yet another injury blow on Friday evening during Borussia Dortmund’s game against VfB Stuttgart. The USMNT international was forced to come off less then two minutes after kick-off.

Reyna left the pitch in tears after suffering what appeared to be a recurrence of the hamstring injury that has forced him to spend several months on the sidelines already this season. The 19 year old was consoled by his Borussia Dortmund teammates before he went off the pitch.

Reyna has had to endure a difficult season so far due to injuries. He suffered a hamstring injury while playing for the United States men’s national team in September. That injury kept him out of action for more than five months.

He then suffered another injury setback on his return to the Borussia Dortmund starting XI in February. But fortunately, he avoided a serious injury then and made his return to the team three weeks later.

Reyna was making only his second start for Borussia Dortmund since his return to action on Friday. But he suffered an apparent hamstring injury in just the second minute of the game and immediately signalled that he would need to come off. It is currently unclear what the extent of the injury is, or how long Reyna will be sidelined for.
