Borussia Dortmund have a raft of injury concerns to deal with ahead of their Bundesliga clash against VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday.

With five games left before the end of the season, Borussia Dortmund have their sights set on finishing second in the Bundesliga standings. They currently hold an eight point lead over third placed Bayer Leverkusen, and a win against VfL Wolfsburg on Saturday would ensure that Dortmund play UEFA Champions League football next season.

Borussia Dortmund will have to make do without a number of key players on Saturday. Gio Reyna, Mats Hummels, Thomas Meunier, Mateu Morey and Steffen Tigges are already sidelined with their respective injuries.

And Marco Rose confirmed during his pre-match press conference that Mahmoud Dahoud, Donyell Malen and Felix Passlack will also miss the game against Wolfsburg, while Raphael Guerreiro is unlikely to be ready in time.

But Nico Schulz is an option again after recovering from his muscle injury. He is expected to slot straight back into the Borussia Dortmund starting XI. Julian Brandt should also return to the starting lineup following his brace against VfL Stuttgart.

Rose also revealed during his press conference that Haaland is being forced to play with painkillers, but added that his foot is slowly getting better after the injury he suffered during the international break.

Wolfsburg, who are coming off an impressive 4-0 win over Arminia Bielefeld, do not have too many injury concerns ahead of the game. But Florian Kohfeldt’s side will be without the injured quartet Luca Waldschmidt, Paulo Otavio, William and Micky van de Ven.
