Julian Brandt has said that he feels comfortable at Borussia Dortmund and wants to stay at the club beyond the end of the season.

Reports have claimed in recent weeks that Julian Brandt is one of the players who could leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer if a suitable offer arrives. But the playmaker does not think that his time at the club is over yet.

In an interview with WAZ, Brandt said that he feels something really promising is developing at Borussia Dortmund under Marco Rose.

"“In the media, 35 new players and 35 departures are discussed every summer and every winter at BVB. I don’t give it much thought, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night.”“I still have an extreme passion for this club and don’t think that my time here is over. I have the feeling that something extremely good is developing here with the coach, his team and the guys who play here. For me, there is no reason to leave. I feel comfortable in Dortmund.”"

Brandt has struggled for consistency again this season, and hadn’t scored or assisted a goal for almost three months before his match-winning brace against VfB Stuttgart earlier this month. Despite his inconsistencies, the former Bayer Leverkusen man still has seven goals and ten assists to his name in 36 appearances across all competitions.

Marco Rose praised Brandt on Saturday, and said that the 26 year old is having “a very decent season overall.” But he also added that there are some areas where Brandt needs to improve.

Brandt followed up his brace against Stuttgart by getting two assists in the 6-1 win over VfL Wolfsburg at the weekend. With four games still left before the end of the season, the German international will be aiming to continue his fine run of form in the coming weeks.

It still remains to be seen what the future holds for Brandt, but a strong end to the season would go a long way in convincing the BVB bosses that he deserves to be at the club beyond the summer transfer window.
