Borussia Dortmund’s injury list has grown slightly ahead of their top of the table clash against Bayern Munich, with both Gregor Kobel and Axel Witsel set to miss Saturday’s game.
Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich face off this weekend in what should be another cracking contest between Germany’s top two teams. The Black and Yellows will be looking to prevent Bayern from clinching their tenth successive Bundesliga title this weekend, but they will have to do so without several key players.
Gregor Kobel, who has been one of Borussia Dortmund’s top performers this season, will miss Saturday’s game after suffering an injury in training. Second-choice goalkeeper Marwin Hitz will start between the sticks instead.
In addition to Kobel, Axel Witsel, Mats Hummels, Donyell Malen, Mahmoud Dahoud, Thomas Meunier, Gio Reyna, Thorgan Hazard, Mateu Morey and Steffen Tigges will also miss the trip to Munich.
It will be interesting to see how Marco Rose deals with his team’s latest injury crisis. In addition to the above mentioned players, Dan-Axel Zagadou and Marius Wolf are also doubts heading into the game.
Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman is a doubt ahead of kick-off, and the Bavarians will also be without Bouna Sarr, Corentin Tolisso and Omar Richards. But Lucas Hernandez is fit again and could start in defence. Robert Lewandowski will start up front for Bayern, looking to continue his excellent scoring record against his former club.
