Erling Haaland’s hat-trick was not enough as Borussia Dortmund fell to a 3-4 defeat at home to VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund’s defensive woes continued on Saturday afternoon as they suffered a 3-4 defeat at home in their Ruhr derby against VfL Bochum. It was a well deserved defeat for the Black and Yellows, who were made to pay for their lack of efficiency on both ends of the pitch.

Bochum made a dream start to the game and raced to a two goal lead, before a hat-trick from Erling Haaland helped Borussia Dortmund turn the game on its head. But Bochum roared back and scored two goals in four minutes late on to seal a stunning 4-3 win against their local rivals.

Borussia Dortmund have now conceded 50 goals in the league this season, which is more than any other team in the top 11 of the Bundesliga standings.

Here are our player ratings for the Borussia Dortmund players from their 3-4 defeat to VfL Bochum.

Marwin Hitz (6/10)

Hitz made a couple of decent saves and did not really stand a chance with any of Bochum’s four goals.
